Fortune cookie is a crisp cookie made from flour, sugar, vanilla, and oil with a short message or FORTUNE inside it. The fortune is a piece of paper with some words of wisdom or prophecy written on it. They taste more like butter cookies. The message can also be in the form of mystery riddles or messages with love or anything you wish to write inside it.
These cookies are great for parties especially for New Year’s Eve! It is a good chance to impress your loved ones. You can write the message as per your customization – like fortune sayings for kids, love messages, sarcastic messages, resolution sayings especially for the New Year, funny sayings etc.
You can also make the cookies with birthday wishes, anniversary wishes or anything you desire for!

Here is the fortune cookie recipe:-
Ø Prep: 45min.
Ø Bake: 5min.
Ø Makes 10 cookies
Preheat oven to 180°. Write fortunes on small strips of paper (3-1/2×1/4-in.); set aside. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Using a pencil, draw two 3-1/2-in. circles on a sheet of parchment paper. Place the paper, pencil markdown, on a baking sheet; set aside.
In a small bowl, beat butter, sugar, egg white and vanilla. Add flour; mix well. Spread 1 tablespoon of batter over each circle. Bake 4-5 minutes or until lightly browned.
Slide parchment paper onto a work surface. Cover one cookie with a kitchen towel. Place a fortune in the center of the other cookie; loosen the cookie from the parchment paper with a thin spatula. Fold the cookie in half over the fortune strip so the edges meet; hold the edges together for 3 seconds.
