Hailing from Mumbai, Sharvari completed her Bachelor’s Degree in Hotel Management from the renowned Institute of Hotel Management, Bangalore. During her time in college she discovered her inclination towards baking and then decided to pursue it further, she enrolled herself into the prestigious Institute Vatel, Nimes France. This is where she polished her skills further and gained a Master’s Degree in International Hotel Management with a specialization in Patisserie.
The successful home chef has come a long way since then, with over 15 years of experience working as a professional in the culinary industry with big hotels like Hilton (previously Le Meridian) in Mumbai, Park Hyatt in Paris and many more.
In the early years of her career, she has had the opportunity to work with numerous hotels in India, along with that she spent 6 years helping others realize their passion towards the world of baking by teaching in institutes.
Sharvari has always been fascinated with fresh and authentic ingredients. She wants to continuously explore more without being bound by recipes so she decided to start something of her own, where she could go beyond boundaries, work on her own recipes, try new things and be her own boss. This led to the inception of her brand, Shalli’s. The range of products vary from Customized cakes, Cookies, Brownies, Biscotti, Jar cakes, Chocolates- soft centers, truffles, bars, Variety bread – Artisan, sour dough, gluten free, Specialty desserts, Macaroons, Tarts, souffles, Pies, Meringue based, and a lot more. All products are made to order as per the client’s needs without compromising the quality.
She gained her first client through the power of social media. She was a part PULA which is an online community where ladies in Pune can network and promote their businesses. She was approached by a client and it was a leap of trust between them that led to her bagging her first order.
She has come a long way since then and aspires to grow more. When asked about her future goals Sharvari added “I hope to collaborate with big cafes in Pune where I can produce more without compromising the quality of the ingredients I use.”
The most important piece of advice she would like to give other bakers is that patience is key. “Never run into ventures without backup, always work on your craft and choose to grow at a mature and steady pace, this will prove to be more fruitful in the long run.”, added Sharvari.
