The price of success is a dedication to the job at hand, hard work, and the determination that whether we win or lose, we have applied the best of ourselves to the task at hand. These thoughts strongly resonate with Bhopal based home baker Manisha Yadav, who is the founder of UTM DELIGHT, a bakery which provides gorgeous customized cakes to its customers. 



Having a Master’s degree in biotechnology, Manisha has previously worked in an agricultural company as a microbiologist. After getting promoted to the post of a production manager, she joined a course in chocolate making and this sparked her interest in baking. She has completed many baking courses from International Cake Artist and India’s Top Ten Cake Artist from Mumbai. Apart from this, she has frequently been a judge at cooking competitions in Bhopal.



Currently, Manisha has been conducting professional baking classes and she specializes in eggless cakes. She has recently developed her studio in Bhopal which is where she not only takes these classes, but also resells baking materials and takes orders for customized cakes. 



The first cake that she baked was a commercial cake, three years ago. Out of the wide variety of cakes that she makes, her most favourite cakes to bake are the fondant cakes as she thinks it is more peaceful and tidy work as compared to making cream cakes. Her most challenging project till now has been a 22 kg tiered cake which she made recently for a themed function. It was a semi-fondant cake which had to be set up in an open garden. She says, “There were a lot of issues but somehow I managed to make it and set it up successfully. This cake was also featured in the newspaper and overall it was a superb experience.” 




Manisha’s goal for the next five years is to run her studio cum training centre with a lot of dedication and focus. She says, “I also want to open a special studio only for chocolates from where customers would be able to buy fancy chocolates. This kind of concept does not exist in Bhopal as of now – there are a lot of bakeries but hardly any confectioneries selling specialized chocolates.” Quite an interesting plan, we think. 



Speaking about her experience working with Bulb and Key, she says, “It has been a good experience so far. The team is very professional and I really like the ideas they come up with. I have also received a lot of positive support from them and I hope this continues.”



One piece of advice that Manisha would like to give to the budding bakers is to work hard, focus on their goals and keep thinking of new ways to expand their knowledge and sharpen their skills. She believes that if we want to learn a new skill, then we should aim to be an expert in it. We couldn’t agree more!
